It was about 10 years ago. I was a junior developer, I hated my job and was looking to make the move.
I understood the basics of the Java language and could write code in Java, but apart from the basic JDK, I had no clue on the Java eco-system.
When I looked at a job description, the requirements section seemed to be written in a totally different language. Those technologies didn’t mean anything to me and there was just so many of them that it was simply overwhelming.
I knew I had to learn new skills to find a better job, but I just didn’t know where to start.
If you’re in similar shoes now – being new to building web applications in Java, I’d like you to fill out this survey that collects information on what tools and technologies people use today.
If you already have experience using web technologies, but looking for new skills to learn or just curious to find out more about the current trends in enterprise java…, well, why not complete the survey, too?
I wanted to make it easy for you to fill it out and left all the answers optional. Feel free to skip any questions that you don’t feel relevant.
Later on the results will be compiled and published as a report. Make sure to visit http://kaviddiss.com to get the report or you can also subscribe to my newsletter to receive it via email.
Have you already completed the survey? Make sure to share it with your friends and colleagues, too!
Thanks!
David
PS: If you still haven’t done it yet, follow this link and submit your answers to the survey.
Update:
